If you are planing on visiting this area (Marquette County) this winter, check the weather first. When it

snows here the roads are bad for 2-3 days afterwards as they have a whole differant philosophy for clearing

snow than you see in other winter areas. In my opinion I would suggest caution in this part of the Upper

Peninsula during snow periods.

RESEARCH HAS FOUND THAT THESE BLUEGILLS ARE ACTUALLY A LARGER STRAIN OF BLUEGILLS THAT HAS DEVELOPED OVER
MANY YEARS DUE TO THE BREEDING HABITS OF BLUEGILLS. IF YOU REMOVE TOO MANY OF THE BIG GILLS, THE SMALLER
STRAIN MALES WILL DOMINATE AND SPAWN A SMALLER SPECIES AND YOU WILL ONLY HAVE SMALL GILLS LEFT TO CATCH.
THE LARGE GILLS WILL BE GONE FOR MANY MANY YEARS UNTIL THE NEXT LARGE STRAIN EVOLVES.
